Feline Accupressure
Feline acupressure brings relaxation and comfort to cats through gentle pats, petting and strokes. This helps to reduce stress and anxiety in cats, resulting in improved health and wellbeing. Providing your cat with a unique and calming experience.
This is information I've gathered to help me understand the correlation between where my cats like being petted during an illness and there relation to acupressure and meridian points.
We recommend that before you try any of this on your feline friend, you try it on yourself first. Remember its very gentle, pat like pressure and if your feline does not like it - stop immediately.

Just a light pressure for a few seconds. Try it on yourself, notice the change in feeling around the teeth and sinus area. That slight pressure is enough to make a change in the sinus pressure. Also a good reason why never to tap your kitty on the nose!

Located between C7-T1 (spine).
This is the area just before the shoulder bones.GV 14 assists with expelling pathogens, reducing fevers and chills as well as toniefying the neck and spine.
It strengthens the Wei Qi (protector of energy).
My kitty enjoys a little circular rub around the back of the neck with the thumbs, or stroking down from the ears to just past the shoulder blades. This area gets its attention, while she laps up the 'kitty massage' attention.
You don't have to focus on the one small area, petting around it, over it in a manner thats enjoyable for the pet is the key.
Emergency, Shock, Trauma, Loss of Consciousness

What I like to do is not press on it directly but start under the eyes and pet along the cheek bones a couple of times.
Reduces Cough

LU09
Meridian: Lung
Pin Yin: Tai Yuan
English Name: Great abyss
Found in the inner leg near the radial artery, so we want to be very careful here - we are not doing anything but gentle petting, the same kind of force as it takes to move a tissue across the table. This can help with local pain in the wrist joint of the paw and leg pain, it may also assist with tonifying the qi in relation to conditions such as cough, asthma, runny nose.
